HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL TRADER
I've spent many hours and and a great deal of energy bringing together this incredible team of teachers. Here are some thoughts that we all agree on.
WE'VE HAD TO LOSE A LOT TO GET HERE
Successful trading is about dealing with failure. That's a psychological and emotional issue that you're going to have to deal with for your entire career. Not addressing it or speaking around it shows a lack of integrity. Spending all day in front of your computer will neither make you lose less frequently, nor lose smaller amounts of capital, nor give you more control over the markets.
You should anticpate losing with greater frequency than winning. If you have a thing about needing to be "right" all the time, trading is not for you.
Your goal should be to make gains over losses over a finite period of time that provides you a balanced lifestyle. Working 90 hour workweeks is not sustainable.
In our experience, trading shorter time frames will only lengthen the agony of losing and that will result in making you bitter. You have to work hard to learn your craft, and work smartly in your execution and trading tactics.
The best you can do is have an ethos you can replicate. You cannot harvest cash from the markets just because you have a system or know how to read a chart.
You should view the market as the most cagey person you've ever met. It will say one thing and do another. It will be unreliable. It will seem to make you promises and break them. It will cheat on you. It will talk behind your back. It will agree to meet you at a certain time and place and then never show up. Get used to it.
All trading systems look good on paper. You need to have the right psychology in order to use them, and you won't know that until you try.
TEACHING FOR SEVERAL DECADES
Each of our teachers have several decades of teaching and trading experience. We've lived through all sorts of markets, panics, and manias. We studied how trader psychology and emotions run through every type of trader - discretionary and systematic. Everyone runs an emotional system. Hopefully, you are in tune with yours.
WE'VE TRIED SEVERAL STRATEGIES TO FIND BEST FIT
Your financial needs will change over time. The traders featured in Market Wizards don't trade the same way today. Some don't trade at all. Some system traders are now 100% discretionary. You'll find that compatibility between yourself and your rules will need to be congruent.
Courses are all taught online and are streamed. You can work at your own pace and according to your own schedule. They are designed to accelerate your understanding by giving you the context and wisdom that come with decades of experience that most other teachers do not have and will not attain.
Our goal is to shorten your learning curve and ultimately save you time and money.
